The most important questions and answers about Covid19 and your vacation
From 19 May, the obligation for quarantine will be waived for entry from countries classified as green, orange or light red by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). For entry from light red countries, you will need either a recent test, a vaccination or proof of a previous corona infection.
Please keep in mind that not only the Austrian regulations are relevant, but also the measures of your home country, especially with regard to your return journey.
All the leisure activities you wouldn't want to miss on your holiday are possible again! For your safety, a so-called "entry test" is always necessary where many people come together in a small area. This means that you need proof of a recent test, a vaccination or that you have survived a corona infection.
For your safety, special protective measures apply in summer 2021. FFP2 masks are required in indoor public areas, such as public transport, museums, shops and cable cars. Austria is the leader in the number of corona tests carried out.

ENTRY
In future, Austria will follow the ECDC map for risk areas.
-
green/orange: free entry
-
red: entry only for tested, vaccinated or recovered persons
-
dark red: entry only for tested, vaccinated or recovered persons plus quarantine (5 days + test)
This means that entry from countries with a 14-day incidence of less than 500 (equivalent to a 7-day incidence of 250), which are not virus mutation areas, will be possible without quarantine. The exceptions for commuters described above remain in place. The details of the upcoming regulation as well as the entry requirements from non-EU countries are still being worked out. We will of course inform you here as soon as we have them.
